Applications for Partnership Funded Grants welcome

The CMIH welcomes grant applications for uses which further the field of mathematical imaging for healthcare.  Suggested uses of the partnership fund include the following, however the fund is in no way restricted to these activities and any applications related to the field are welcomed.

– Sabbatical support for academics outside of the CMIH to spend time at the centre
– International visitor programme, with support for visitors to spend time at other UK research centres alongside visiting the CMIH
– Internship opportunities for Post Doctoral Research Associates to spend time in industrial/clinical settings (with suitable support from industrial/clinical partners)
– Industrial/clinical secondments into the CMIH (with suitable support from industrial/clinical partners)
– Funding for small workshops, proposed by affiliated members of the CMIH
– Workshops to build new industrial connections within the CMIH
– Scoping (pump priming) projects to build new collaborations between academics and industry in the field of mathematics of clinical imaging

There are three classes of grant, small (less than £200), medium (£200-£2000) and large (more than £2000), with differences in the application and assessment procedure depending upon the grant size being applied for.

Application Process

Applications are welcomed from any researchers working in the field of mathematics of medical imaging, or in fields of relevance to this topic and the work of the centre. Applicants are asked to note within the application how their work is related to the centre’s activities and the field.  Applications for funding must be made in writing, and sent to the centre coordinator, cmih@maths.cam.ac.uk.

Applications for small grants should consist of:

– Summary of proposal covering no more than one A4 page
– Breakdown of costs
– CV of main proposer

Applications for medium grants should consist of:

– Summary of proposal covering no more than two A4 pages
– Breakdown of costs
– CV of all involved parties

Applications for large grants should consist of:

– Summary of proposal covering no more than four A4 pages
– Detailed breakdown of costs
– CV of all involved parties
We endeavour to respond to applications as soon as possible. Responses to application for small grants can be expected in 4-6 weeks. For medium grants the maximum response time is 4 months, and for large grants 6 months, however it is hoped the majority of applications are responded to on shorter timescales.

Full details on the assessment procedure are available to applicants on request.
